My name is Miss Lilit and I have worked at The Montessori School of Regina for the last four years. I am a Teacher Assistant in the Pre-primary program and currently taking the North American Montessori Center’s Early Childhood (3-6) Diploma program
After I graduated from Bar Ilan University, Israel with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, I decided that I wanted to work with children and began to work at Gvanim High-school, where I was also encouraged by the Principal to teach Hebrew in the Upper Elementary classroom. After two years working there as a Special Assistant and Hebrew Teacher, my family and I moved to Canada.
In Canada I began to teach Hebrew in the Beth Jacob Synagogue and heard that there was an opening for an Extended Hours Supervisor position with The Montessori School of Regina. I wasn’t familiar with Montessori education, so I began to research about Maria Montessori and her approach and was intrigued and inspired to learn how it has been used by teachers and students for over a century with great success. I worked as an Extended Hours Supervisor and Office Assistant for one year and then began to work as a Teacher Assistant.
I love the way that Montessori education nurtures and celebrates the child’s intrinsic desire to learn and it is my pleasure to be their guide along the way.
